  1. Understanding Mental Illness in a Christian Worldview

Life is constructed to operate upon defined design parameters, (i.e. Laws of Health, Laws of Physics etc) deviation from these parameters is destructive. In this presentation we will explore God's design parameters for life and health and how deviations from these parameters damage the brain and contribute to mental and relational illness. We will identify specific evidence-based interventions that bring healing as they harmonize with design law.

Objectives:

  • Identify testable design parameters which life and health are built to operate upon and how deviations contribute to disease.

  • Identify specific interventions to promote healthy brain function.

  • Discuss cultural impact on mood and anxiety

    2. Domestic Violence in The Christian Home.

Should Christian homes experience less domestic violence than non-Christian homes? Discover what the data reveals and why Christian homes do not have lower domestic violence rates. Discover concepts within Christianity that actually contribute to domestic violence and uncover Biblical truths which when applied bring health and healing. During this session we will explore how beliefs change brain function and the interplay between domestic violence, religion and brain development.

Objectives:

  • Explore the relationship between "Sin" brain chances and subsequent domestic violence

  • Identify risk factors in Christianity that contribute to domestic violence

  • Identify protective factors in Christianity that protect against domestic violence
